Bell Street Construction Begins Thursday

Seattle Parks and Recreation is happy to announce the
construction for the Bell Street Park begins on March 21, 2013.
The completed park will run from 1st – 5th Ave on Bell Street. The
project will be divided into phases with each block being
constructed individually to minimize disruption to local residents
and businesses.

Phase 1 will begin construction on the area from 1st to 2nd Ave.
Parks anticipates this phase to be completed the end of May 2013.

Seattle Parks is providing safe access to all businesses and
residents along this portion of Bell Street during construction.

Street Closures Sunday for St Patrick’s Day Dash

The F5 St. Patrick’s Day Dash is Seattle’s original and largest St. Patrick’s Day run/walk, with 15,000 green-clad fitness enthusiasts dashing nearly four miles around Seattle Center. The Dash is a benefit for the Detlef Schrempf Foundation and Northwest Children's Charities.

The St. Patrick’s Day Dash starts at 3rd & Mercer at 8:30am and runs east to Dexter. Runners and walkers go north on Aurora to the Aurora Bridge, and return to Finish at 5th & Harrison next to EMP. Activities on Seattle Center grounds include the Post Dash Bash, Irish entertainment and Beer Garden in the Fisher Pavilion.

Aurora will be closed between Thomas and N 34th from 7:30-11:00am.
Mercer will be closed between 1st and Dexter from 5:00-11:00am.
5th Ave will be closed between Mercer & Broad St from 8:00 – 11:00am.

Town Hall Meeting

Join State Senator Jeanne Kohl-Welles and State Representatives Reuven Carlyle and Gael Tarleton for a discussion the legislative session and share your questions and concerns.

The meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Vancouver/Calgary Room at the new City University of Seattle at 521 Wall St. Robert Nellams, director of the Seattle Center, will be the moderator.
